Activa 6G, Activa 125, Dio, Shine, SP 125, Unicorn, Hornet & CB350 — scooter and motorcycle repair at Charkop Sector 8.
Walk past any housing society in Charkop and count the scooters — most of them will be Honda Activas. The Activa is the family vehicle of Kandivali West: it does the school run, the vegetable market trip and the daily ride to Malad or Borivali. Honda's Shine and SP 125 are just as popular with people who commute longer distances on Link Road.
Honda engineering is reliable, but scooters have their own wear parts — the CVT belt, roller weights, clutch shoes and the starter system. We know how each Activa generation behaves and what typically wears out at what point, so we can tell you whether a sound is normal or needs attention.
| Model | Type | Work we commonly do |
|---|---|---|
| Activa 6G / Activa 125 | Scooter | CVT belt and rollers, clutch shoe, silent-start (ACG) faults, CBS brake adjustment, general service |
| Dio / Dio 125 | Scooter | Variator service, brake work, electrical faults, tyre and battery |
| Shine 100 / Shine 125 / SP 125 | Commuter motorcycle | Chain kit, clutch plates, oil change, starting problems |
| Unicorn / Hornet 2.0 | 160–185cc | Disc brake pads, chain, FI cleaning, suspension |
| CB350 / H'ness / CB350RS | 350cc | Oil and filter change, chain care, brake pads, electrical checks |
Worn CVT belt, flat-spotted roller weights or a glazed clutch shoe make the Activa feel sluggish or shake on take-off. We open the CVT cover, inspect and replace only what's worn.
Activa 6G and 125 use Honda's ACG silent starter. If it clicks or does nothing, the battery voltage is checked first, then the relay and wiring.
Combi-brake models need both brake shoes and the equaliser set correctly. Wrongly adjusted CBS makes braking feel spongy.
Older Activas sometimes leak from the crankcase or drain bolt. We trace the leak instead of just topping up.
A dry chain, worn sprocket or badly adjusted clutch cable is usually the reason.
A Honda Activa service at our workshop includes engine oil change, air filter cleaning, spark plug check, CVT inspection (belt, rollers, clutch), front and rear brake adjustment including CBS, battery voltage test, lights, horn and indicators, tyre pressure and a road test. For Honda motorcycles we add chain cleaning, lubing and adjustment and clutch free play. We follow the service interval in your Honda owner's manual and tell you if anything is due early.

Activa 6G and Activa 125 run tubeless tyres — a 12-inch front and a 10-inch rear on most variants. Tubeless punctures are plugged in about 10–15 minutes. Because the rear wheel on a scooter is behind the engine, a tyre change takes longer than on a bike, but we keep popular Activa tyre sizes ready so you are not left waiting days. The Activa needs a healthy battery for its silent-start system — a weak battery is the most common reason an Activa "suddenly" won't start in the morning. We test it free, and if replacement is needed we fit a branded maintenance-free battery with warranty and offer exchange on the old one. See bike battery replacement in Kandivali.
Owner tip: if your Activa feels shaky only while pulling away from a signal and smooth after that, it is usually the clutch or CVT — not the engine. Get it checked early; it's much cheaper than waiting for the belt to snap on Link Road.

First check the battery — a weak battery is the most common cause. If the battery is fine, the starter relay, fuse, brake switch or ACG wiring may be at fault. We test the battery free and diagnose the rest.
